The Philanthropic Projects Coordinator is responsible for the functional oversight of donor development operations, including donor database (CRM), online giving tools, prospect research, reporting, and key project coordination. In alignment with Triad Goodwill’s philanthropic goals, this role will implement strategic projects, such as corporate engagement through sponsorships, event coordination, and special fundraising campaigns.

This position will operate out of Goodwill’s Home Office, located at 1235 S. Eugene St., Greensboro, NC, with occasional travel throughout the Triad area.

Duties

  • Serves as administrator of the donor CRM managing data entry, updating donor records, and ensuring data hygiene and integrity.
  • Oversees the accurate tracking and recording of donations and managing timely generation of tax receipts and acknowledgement letters.
  • Manages and optimizes online giving platforms, peer-to-peer fundraising tools, and donation forms to ensure a seamless experience for donors.
  • Conducts detailed prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to identify potential major donors, aligning interests with organizational funding needs.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with prospects, funders, and community partners using best practices of donor relationship management.
  • Assists in developing corporate sponsorship packages, tracking deliverables, and stewarding corporate relationships.
  • Coordinates logistical elements for fundraising and engagement events, including planning, implementation, and follow-up.
  • Provides project coordination support for targeted campaigns, annual appeals, and crowdfunding initiatives, including timeline management and tracking deliverables.
  • Participates in authentic, compelling storytelling grounded in stakeholder experience and meaningful mission presence.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from accredited college or university in business, communications, marketing, public administration, finance, human services, or related field. A combination of a high school diploma and 5+ years of significant, direct nonprofit experience and/or college-level coursework may be considered in lieu of an associate’s degree.
  • 3-years’ experience working in operations and/or fundraising in nonprofit organization or sales in a mission-centric environment.
  • Project management, data management, and/or process design experience highly preferred.
  • High level of digital literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite, database use, web-based learning platforms, research tools, and other digital platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to adapt messages to various stakeholders, including funding prospects and donors.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with precision, accuracy, and flexibility.
  • Ability and willingness to attend after hour or weekend events as scheduled.
  • Valid NC driver’s license with good driving record, reliable vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screens.
