Description
Randolph County Family Crisis Center is currently hiring multiple trauma therapists to provide evidence-based/trauma-informed services with children, adults, and/or families impacted by child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. This includes roles serving children and families through our Emmy’s House Children’s Advocacy Center and/or serving adult and adolescent survivors of interpersonal violence through our domestic/sexual violence services. Applicants must indicate preferred populations and/or evidence-based modalities such as TF-CBT, CFTSI, AF-CBT, DBT, PCIT, EMDR, or other models with demonstrated effectiveness.
The trauma therapists will deliver compassionate care, build resilience, and support healing in a safe and inclusive environment. The individual in this role is subject to significant mental stress as a result of providing constant emotional support to individuals experiencing crisis. Additionally, as an agency team member, lifting of donations, supplies and equipment is required.
Duties
Clinical Services
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy to child and adult survivors of trauma and interpersonal violence.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment models, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), EMDR, Play Therapy, PCIT, or others appropriate to client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain appropriate clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards and provide reports/statistics as required by agency leadership, funders, and/or other stakeholders.
- Make appropriate referrals to other agencies or individual therapists, as necessary.
- Act as a representative of this agency and its mission in community groups, as assigned.
- Assist with volunteer training when requested.
- Attend any workshops or in-services to strengthen or enhance job performance or knowledge, especially training that is evidence-based and trauma-specific.
- Report any important issues to the designated agency and/or external providers as appropriate including providing necessary documentation and/or follow-up.
- Provide expert testimony in court proceedings when subpoenaed.
Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) Services
- Serve children and non-offending caregivers referred by Emmy’s House CAC.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to support coordinated care and case management, and partner with systems including Department of Social Services (DSS), law enforcement, and court systems.
- Offer crisis intervention and psychoeducation for children and families following forensic interviews.
Domestic/Sexual Violence Services
- Provide counseling to adult and adolescent survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other forms of interpersonal violence.
- Support clients with safety planning, coping skills, and trauma recovery.
- Collaborate with advocates, legal services, shelter staff, and community partners to support holistic client needs.
- Partner with DSS to ensure all required reporting and safety precautions are in place for individuals served.
Community & Program Support
- Offer training and consultation to staff, volunteers and MDT partners on trauma-informed care.
- Contribute to outreach, prevention, and awareness events as needed.
- Stay current on best practices in trauma treatment and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Promote a positive image of Randolph County Family Crisis Center, Inc. by ensuring an understanding of program services available, publicizing activities and accomplishments, and conducting oneself according to a professional code of ethics.
- Work cooperatively with the personnel at each Randolph County Family Crisis Center, Inc. site, maintaining both a professional and collaborative attitude, as well as appropriate role boundaries.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field.
- Existing certification or a willingness to complete certification training in one or more of following evidence-based models: TF-CBT, CFTSI, AF-CBT, DBT, PCIT, and/or EMDR.
- Current licensure or license-eligible in North Carolina (e.g., LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LPA).
- Experience providing therapy to survivors of trauma, abuse, or interpersonal violence.
- Commitment to cultural humility and serving diverse, underserved, and marginalized populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or advanced training in one or more of the following evidence-based trauma treatment models: TF-CBT, CFTSI, AF-CBT, DBT, PCIT, EMDR.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with CAC model and domestic/sexual violence programs.
- Knowledge of issues affecting rural communities and trauma survivors.
