
Description
Summary: The fulltime Online Vocational Education Instructor is responsible for developing and teaching online vocational English and digital literacy classes. The courses will be offered in both the morning and evening and run on 4-8 week cycles. Courses will be leveled as beginner, intermediate, and advanced to better meet the needs of the clients and offered to any eligible client throughout NC. The instructor will be required to complete all enrollment paperwork and conduct pre and post testing to show knowledge gains.
Duties
Essential Functions:
- Maintains accurate records for the Refugee Support Services program
- Develop curriculum for the online vocational education and digital literacy courses.
- Assess clients’ vocational education and digital literacy needs
- Enrolls clients into Vocational Education program
- Teach online vocational English and digital literacy courses
- Provides orientation to the world of work
- Provides internal referrals to various NAI programs
- Assists in data entry and documentation as required by the Refugee Support Services contract
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree, a TESOL certification is preferred
Experience: Teaching ESOL, Online Instruction, Designing Competency Based Curriculum
Specific skills/abilities: Knowledge on English study and placement, managing a classroom, developing lesson plans and curriculum.
Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc: Must be able to use MS Office and the Refugee Information System database
