We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead our organization in fulfilling this mission.
Position Overview: The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of the homeless day center. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community partners to ensure the organization meets its goals and objectives while maintaining a strong financial foundation and fostering an inclusive, service-oriented environment. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the center’s operations, including program development, funding, financial management, community relations, and staff leadership.

Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the homeless day center, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Supervise, support, and develop a dedicated team.
- Funding & Financial Management: Secure and manage funding from a variety of sources, including government grants, private donations, and corporate sponsorships. Maintain financial integrity by developing and overseeing the center's budget, financial policies, and procedures.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies to advance the mission of the center, with a focus on sustainability, growth, and continued impact in the community.
- Community Outreach & Public Relations: Represent the organization in the community, building relationships with local government, service providers, businesses, and other stakeholders. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, effectively communicating the organization’s mission and needs to diverse audiences.
- Program Development & Evaluation: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services offered to clients, ensuring they meet the highest standards and are aligned with best practices in homeless services.
- Collaboration with Continuum of Care (CoC): Actively participate in the local Continuum of Care (CoC) process to ensure the organization’s efforts align with regional homelessness strategies and maximize available resources.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Prior Management Experience: Significant experience in managing teams and programs, with a focus on working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of Funding Sources: Demonstrated success in securing and managing diverse funding sources, including government grants, private foundations, and individual donors.
- Experience with Continuum of Care (CoC): In-depth knowledge of the Continuum of Care system, including its operations, funding mechanisms, and the collaborative process for addressing homelessness.
- Financial Management Expertise: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring accountability in all financial practices.
- Public Speaking & Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public speaking, media relations, and representing an organization in high-profile settings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or similar). A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role in a nonprofit or social services environment, ideally working with homeless populations.
- Experience in securing funding through grants, donations, and other means.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness and a passion for social justice and community impact.
