Description

The Executive Director is responsible for the professional leadership and management of Partners Ending Homelessness. This position requires independent, results-oriented, strategic thinking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment while working with public and private sectors of the community. This position involves diplomatic and courteous environment with policy makers, state and local leaders, funders, housing and service providers, and staff. The primary focus is to build capacity and strengthen partnerships in efforts to end homelessness in Guilford County.

Duties

  • Board Relations – Work with the Board of Directors to fulfill organization’s mission. Executes strategies and plans, member development, and engagement. Provides transparency and clear communication for the overall operation of the organization.
  • Operations Management – Ensure development of functional strategic plan, contractual compliance of grants received, oversee business operations, ensure organizational compliance with state and federal laws, and ensure all organizational policies are up to date.
  • Financial and Risk Management – Develops annual budget and ensures annual audit occurs. Oversees fundraising planning and implementation (grants, contracts, sponsorships, and donations). Ensures adherence to highest ethical standards in business practices and generally accepted accounting best practices.
  • Human Resources – Supervise all aspects of staff relations and responsibilities and effectively manage the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures. Maintain a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of qualified personnel.
  • Community Relationships – Build and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders including the Guilford County Continuum of Care, elected officials, government staff, non-profit leadership, and funders.
  • Resource Development- Lead and oversee fundraising and grant development efforts, including cultivating donor relationships, securing philanthropic and corporate support, and researching, writing, and managing grants to ensure sustainable resources for the mission of ending homelessness in Guilford County with the support of the board.

Qualifications

  • Ability to respond appropriately and work diligently with a variety of constituents and community stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and managing a complex professional team, non-profit organization, or government agency.
  • Demonstrated expertise in current thought, best practice, and emerging trends in affordable housing solutions or ending homelessness.
  • Ability of rapidly review large amounts of information, analyze, and identify underlying problems and suggest solutions.
  • Experience in management of state and/or federal grants, and program performance evaluation and monitoring. Successful grant writing and fund development experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and administering programs in a non-profit, public sector, or similar environment focused on affordable housing solutions or ending homelessness.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • Excellent listening, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
