Description
The Assessments Department is responsible for managing the development, administration, and ongoing evaluation of all assessments offered through NBCC and Affiliates. Housed within the Credentialing and Quality Assurance Division, the department oversees assessments for both accredited and non-accredited credentialing programs. The Psychometrician oversees the development, delivery, and maintenance of standardized examinations and all related assessment activities. The Psychometrician Associate must manage all processes and tasks of the assessment programs, including examination maintenance.
Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading, contributing to, organizing, managing, implementing, and documenting activities for various activities, including program evaluation, practice/job analysis, content development, psychometric analysis, standard setting, and custom validity studies.
- Collaborating directly with clients and colleagues about appropriate methods and communicating processes and results to diverse groups of stakeholders. This includes contributing to internal infrastructure and processes and advising leadership, internal staff, and stakeholders regarding current measurement theory, assessment development, and validation practices.
- Engaging in ongoing learning and executing a plan for contributing to the industry through research and service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment/Programs Used:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, and Word.
- Working knowledge of, and experience with data analysis software (e.g., Excel, IRT Pro, R, SAS, SPSS, Winsteps)
Work Location:
- Primarily remote.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 25%.

Qualifications
Required Education/Experience:
- Masters in Psychometrics, Educational Psychology, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 3+ years of applied experience with credentialing and/or educational assessment programs.
- Experience with designing, facilitating, and documenting assessment development and validation activities.
- Experience performing psychometric analysis and using results to improve assessment programs.
- Commitment to professional development and dissemination through presentations or professional publications.
- Experience and ability to work in a virtual environment including use of online meeting software e.g., Teams, Zoom).
- Experience communicating technical concepts in written and oral modes to diverse audience.
