Description

On any given night, over 1,000 people will be living on the streets or shelters in Greensboro. The Partnership to End Homelessness is dedicated to alleviating homelessness in Guilford County. The 27 members of the program serve at 7 partner agencies: The Servant Center, Out of the Garden Project, the Interactive Resource Center, Greensboro Urban Ministry, YWCA, FaithAction International House, and Center for New North Carolinians. Members work directly with homeless clients to provide food, shelter, emergency financial assistance, life skills, and case management. Each month they implement community service projects to benefit the homeless and hungry. Early applicants have the best selection of roles. While we welcome out of state applicants, all member roles are in Greensboro and only those willing and able to travel to Greensboro for a series of interviews should apply. Duties

Members in our program don't "do" just one thing! We have members serving in food pantries, interviewing clients for emergency assistance, helping in shelters, and providing employment assistance. From housing to employment to food insecurity to financial assistance- our member roles are as diverse as our team!  

Qualifications

1.Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. national or lawful permanent resident alien in the United States;
2.Be at least 19 years old;
3.Have not already completed 2 full time service years (or their equivalent) in AmeriCorps
4.Have a high school diploma/GED or 4 year college diploma;
5.Have made no false statements on his/her application documents;
6.Be able to perform all activities listed in the essential requirements for each role;
7.Have not received services from a partner agency in the past 12 months or be a current employee of a partner agency;
8.Be a law-abiding citizen with: no sex offense convictions, no violent felony convictions, no non-violent felony convictions within the past 10 years, no pending felony charges, and not currently on parole or probation.
