Description

Children’s Law Center of Central North Carolina (CLC) is seeking a part-time Development Associate. This individual will report to the Fund Development Manager and will have the primary responsibility of supporting the fundraising efforts of the organization. This individual may also provide support to the agency as a whole, as needed.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess good people skills, exceptional communication skills, and time management skills. The Development Associate should enhance the efficiency of administrative functions, maintain positive relations with donors, and ensure the integrity of development processes.

This position will require some work on evenings and weekends – mostly supporting fundraising events. Occasional local travel included in responsibilities - this position must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver License.

Duties

The core responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Engaging with potential donors.
• Assisting with event planning and execution.
• Tracking contributions.
• Administering donor management system.
• Preparing and managing mailing campaigns.
• Drafting digital and print communications.
• Assisting with social media activities and updates.
• Managing the grants calendar.
• Creating presentations.
• Supporting and improving fund-raising efforts.
• Enhancing overall development initiatives.
• Advising on operating procedures.
• Distributing public relations and prospect materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in public relations, marketing, or communication science or 2 years equivalent experience.
• Computer literacy and working knowledge of office software applications and programs.
• Self-motivated.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Spreadsheet and database management experience.
• Detail oriented.
• Willingness to learn.
