Board Chair Roundtable: Ensure Adequate Resources

The 2018 series of Board Chairs Roundtable will explore the five things your executive director wants you to know.   These “five things” are not pulled from any textbook or journal article but from Guilford County executive directors themselves.  Last year, a short survey was conducted with participants at the Consortium’s executive directors Roundtable asking them to consider the strengths of their current board and then select which five of the ten key areas of board responsibility would they prioritize for board development within their organization. The five topics selected form the basis for our 2018 discussion series.

April Topic: Ensure Adequate Resources 

It’s not always just about money.  Board members accept the responsibility of selecting and hiring the executive director, which is key to the success of the organization.  Other essential resources certainly include money and money fuels space, services, equipment and other necessities.  Talk about the role your board plays in evaluating current resources and organizing to acquire what may be missing.  What role do board members play in fundraising? Or do you leave all this to the executive director?

MUST BE A BOARD CHAIR OR BOARD CHAIR-ELECT TO ATTEND.
